I have not backed down from a fight since grade school but I am willing to negotiate a settlement when it suits my clients needs. I provide skilled and creative legal services to my clients in Brazil, Terre Haute, and West Central Indiana. I am a long time resident of Indiana, moving here from the East Coast in 1971. I graduated from Indiana University School of Law in 1992 and Ball State University in 1989. I also attended East China Institute of Politics and Law in Shanghai, China in 1990. Practice


When something has gone wrong for you or a loved one, the Law office of Charles Hear is the place to go. My primary areas of practice are Criminal Defense, Family and Domestic Relations, Debt Collection, Real Estate, and General Litigation to protect peoples rights. I represent individuals and families effectively and with attention to their individual needs. When it seems like everything is on the line, I am someone you can count on. I do not owe anyone any favors, I am not a good ole boy, and I have no desire to get elected to anything. My number one desire is to win every case.

The Firm


The Law Office of Charles Hear is located on State Road 59, 1.5 miles north of I70 and approximately 3.5 miles south of U.S.40. As my office is located in my home, weekend and evening appointments are available on request, but the office is closed every Friday. The Law Office of Charles Hear provides small town hospitality and respect but provides the resources of a large firm.

Tracy Hines, Legal Assistant, has been with the firm for approximately five years. Tracy skillfully and professionally assists in all aspects of the practice and is often available to personally to visit inmates and go to government offices when Mr. Hear is unavailable.

Yvette Hear is a paralegal of ten years experience working for the state of Indiana. She assists the office when needed.

Jonathan Enos, a Criminology Intern from Indiana State University, has been with the firm for approximately one year. Mr. Enos uses his background in chemistry and criminology to investigate and analyze the facts and theories in our cases. His assistance has been decisive in cases involving ballistics and police misconduct.

Mr. Hear also has a good standing relationship with two private investigation firms and has long relationships with leading professionals in several fields of practice, industries, and government.

Trusts


Charles Hear advises his clients on the creation of trusts. He provides clients with an analysis of the benefits and disadvantages of each type of trust. Some of the trusts he has helped clients establish include revocable living trusts, special needs trusts, asset protection trusts, pot trusts, and charitable trusts.

Planning for your Children


Part of working with an estate planning lawyer is deciding who will take care of your children. Attorney Charles Hear can help you choose a guardian for your children. For example, you may wish to have different guardians for different children. You might want to have a financial guardian, or custodian. If you are divorced, you and the childs other parent may not agree on the selection of a guardian. There are other issues that arise when choosing a guardian. Gregg will help you work though them.

Probate


As a probate lawyer, Charles Hear will assist with estate administration. This can involve valuing, selling, or distributing assets such as cash, real estate, or a business in accordance with the will. If there is no will, estates are administered according to Indiana probate law. In the event of contested or multiple wills, Charles is an experienced litigator who will represent your interests in court.
